Pinewood Derby car for Cub Scouts ( concluded )

On the 21st I had a Pinewood Derby race for Cub Scouts. My dad and I ended up using some other tools, other than the ones I listed in my last post. Every car could not weigh over 5 ounces. According to the scale at the race, our car weighed a tenth of an ounce to much. So all my did was pull off a small weight. Before the race my dad drilled a couple bigger weights into the car. At the Pinewood Derby we where sorted into different divisions. Before the races began almost everybody had a time trial. Everybody raced three times. Whoever won the most times won first place in there division. There were about six or seven divisions. Most divisions had three people racing. I was only racing against one other player, who was in my den. He won two times, I won once. I got upset once the race was over, but my dad said that my car was in one of the divisions, some cars were bought, and some were made all most entirely by the dad. Every Cub scout that raced got a chocolate covered shaped like a car on one end, a badge, and a certificate!

Carson, this sounds so fun. I'm glad you're such a good sport. It's really something that you made you car mostly by yourself with Dad's help. Next year you'll be even better!
Love you, Grandma Bosley
